In case you missed it:
Crier- Friars Might Have Found a Gem In Castro
The Crier is all sorts of fired up to have landed Rafael Castro. While I couldn’t get a read on his recruitment, I certainly saw an intriguing prospect. Cooley said that Rafael is “all of 6-10 and growing” and his ability to alter shots at the basket is obvious. He also averaged an absurd 18.3 ppg 16.3 rpg and 4.8 blocks per game. While he is a lean and could use some overall work on his offensive game, Castro could be an extremely impactful player sooner than later. I also think he could be better than advertised as due to COVID he wasn’t able to truly showcase his abilities on the AAU circuit this past summer.
If you don’t believe me check out his commitment piece from ZAGSBLOG and 247Sports’ Dushawn London.

Cooley may have found a gem in New Jersey.
Friars in Jonas Aidoo Top 10
North Carolina big man Jonas Aidoo released his top 10 with the Friars included. The Friars will have to fight off a slew of top tier programs to win this recruitment. With Castro and Geeter in the mix solidifying the 3/4 spots in this class, Aidoo would be a perfect replacement to Nate Watson at the 5 position.
Jayden Epps Virtual Visit
With 2/3 of the class complete in the 2021 class, the Friar staff is turning its attention towards the 2022 class. Coach Cooley and staff had a virtual visit with DMV point guard Jayden Epps.

Jayden is a 4 star, top 100 point guard from the DMV area. If the Friars don’t pull the trigger on a PG in the 2021 class, which appears likely as of this writing, the PG position will be the primary focus for the 2022 class.
Preston Murphy Jr to DePaul
3 star Point Guard Murphy Jr committed to the DePaul Blue Demons. This is a nice win for DePaul, but not necessarily a huge loss for Providence. Providence held a virtual visit with Murphy Jr., but did not extend an offer.
