AJ Reeves Becomes PC’s First 2018 Commitment!

Ed Cooley and the Friars continue their recruiting role by nabbing class of 2018 SG AJ Reeves. AJ Reeves is from the Boston area by way of Brimmer and May and committed to the PC program this afternoon at their annual Elite Camp. For Cooley it marks his second straight ESPN Top 50 player to commit with both players playing for Boston based AAU team Mass Rivals. Ed Cooley made noise earlier this offseason by adding a Top 50 incoming freshman in Worcester native, Makai Ashton-Langford. As someone who grew up in Worcester county and now lives in Boston the Crier couldn’t be more excited for these last two commitments.

What could be next for Ed Cooley and the Friars would be locking up a commitment with Providence’s own David Duke. Cooley has pitched Reeves and Duke to stay close to home and play together. With Cole Swider cutting the Friars from his list Cooley can now focus on landing the commitment of a point guard that’s getting looks from Kansas right now. Cooley has made PC an attractive destination for top Class of 2018 recruits as he has a lot of open scholarships, plenty of minutes available and already adding to a solid young core. Whether Cooley can convince Duke to come to PC over Kansas will remain to be seen but as for now it’s a big day in Friartown.
