What has been speculated for the last few weeks came to fruition today as Breon Pass choose to stay local at NC State. Pass chose the Wolfpack over the Friars, ECU and Georgia Tech.
NC State does offer football and although Pass stated he is solely focused on hoops you wonder if that had to play into it. What really seems to be hurting the Friars is not being able to have recruits on campus due to the COVID pandemic. One of the big allures of the school is the campus, facilities and community which really can’t be replicated over zoom.
This may hurt the Friars again as they turn their attention to their next target at the point guard position. Darius Johnson will decide October 1st and it appears his familiarity with the UCF program (father being on staff) will cost the Friars his services. The good news is Friars seem to have the position locked down for the next few years with Jared Bynum.
