Friars End Non-Conference 10-1, Beat CCSU 68-53

Let me take you back to March 7th, 2020. The Friars finished off a great conference showing by boat racing DePaul 93-55. You all know how that turned out with COVID having other plans for college basketball, but similarly today’s game felt like a celebration. A celebration of PC having a strong non-conference resume and setting themselves up for a return to the NCAA Tournament. It did seem like the players got the celebration started a little early and a 19-point halftime lead resulted in only a 15-point victory.

Friars Look to Finish Non-Conference Play 10-1, Host Central Connecticut

If I’m Ed Cooley, my message to the team heading into their non-conference finale against Central Connecticut is to finish what you started. Your 9-1 start marks only the second team in the Cooley Era to achieve that feat. The other team to do it found themselves in the NCAA Tournament and victors in the Round of 64. You’ve put yourselves in a great position where not only can you make the NCAAs, but get a good seed as well. Now don’t screw it up. Take the opponent seriously and take care of business. Alright enough from Coach Crier, here’s the preview:
