Providence Takes on DePaul in Opening Round of Big East Tournament

Providence, the 6 seed of the Big East Tournament, takes on 11 seed DePaul at 9pm on Wednesday evening. The winner takes on 3 seed UCONN in the quarterfinals Thursday at 9PM.

Providence is 2-0 this year against DePaul, beating them 57-47 in the rematch and 95-90 in the original match-up (in overtime).

Providence Hangs On: Friars Beat #10 Villanova

Providence, building a massive first half lead, withstood a surge from the shorthanded Villanova Wildcats and defeated them 54-52 to close the regular season on a high note.

With this win, the Providence Friars close the regular season at 13-12 and 6th in the Big East.

Providence Wraps up Regular Season against Villanova – Prep for Big East Tournament Ahead

Providence, sitting at .500 for the season at 12-12, looks to end their tumultuous season on a high note against #10 ranked Villanova. The game is being held at Alumni Hall in Providence at 2:30 on Fox. Providence is looking to even the score against the Wildcats, as Villanova beat Providence 71-56 in Philadelphia.

Providence Looks to Carry Momentum into Match-Up of St. Johns

Providence, off a 7 day break following a convincing victory over Xavier, is looking to settle the score with St. Johns after losing to them earlier this year. The last time these two teams played, St. Johns was scorching hot offensively. The Johnnies scored 92 points en route to an 11 point win, shooting 53% from 3 and 59% from the field.

Providence Takes on Xavier in Rematch – Game Preview & Predictions

It has been about 45 days since Providence and Xavier first played. Providence had the game won on the road in Cincinnati before a horrendous late game collapse. Xavier hit a late 3 to win 74-73. The Musketeeers, to their credit, overcame a 7 point deficit with 73 seconds left to win the game.
